YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT
 |
From June 25 – July 2, about 30 senior high youth
and adults leaders from Trinity Lutheran Church will join 20 youth and adults
from St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church to take part once again in the
Appalachia Service Project. We will travel to Scott County,
Virginia where we will assist families and individuals in making
their homes safer, warmer and drier. Participation in this trip
will cost about $400 per person. While your youth will raise
the majority of the funds needed for this trip, one major
expense remaining is the cost of the transportation to and from
Virginia. In order to transport building repair supplies back
and forth from work sites, each group of 5-7 volunteers needs
access to a 15-vassenger van. We will need to rent 7 vehicles
this year. The eight day rental fee for each van will be $830.
If you are interested in making a donation to help provide
transportation to and from Appalachia, please speak to Deb
Detweiler, Trinity Lutheran Church, Director of Christian Education. |
